Statistics show that the call center industry is still flourishing; it seems to be doubling every year. From an estimated 2,000 workers in 2001, the figure can now be attributed to just one call center. To think that we now have numerous call centers in Metro Manila and some are expanding to major key cities in other regions. This industry is still on a roll.
However, there is a growing concern that the Philippines will be unable to sustain the growth of this billion dollar sector due to lack of qualified workers.
I have been with this industry for more than 2 years now and how I wished that when I was still starting, there were resources available for those willing to join the bandwagon.
This blog was conceived when I was still in my early months taking calls. I will try to compile in this blog all the available resources that will help those that are interested in pursuing a career in the call center industry as well as my personal insights and experiences that I’m very much willing to share. This is the least that I can do to help this industry that I have learned to hate… and to love.
